What about those Lady Jackets!!

THERE MUST BE A BIGGER PICTURE..............Lee's volleyball team has one more season game. They started with moderate to low expectations and came out so strong. But somewhere in the middle it has gone south. These girls are some of Blue Ridge's best athlete's but they are struggling. So we are trying to figure out what the lesson to be learned is.



Lee has played so well. She has been broken hearted over the losses but she loves this team. We all do. These are great girls.



If coach has read the power point system right, our early wins have given us the points we need to enter the state tournament. So we are still alive and hoping that things come together for the final weeks of the season.

Keep them in your prayers.

Blue Ridge 42, Snowflake 7

This was a much anticipated football game. So much for anticipation.......but we had a fun night anyway. It started with a tailgate party at 5:30. (Lee left her VB practice and saw us but didn't know it was us and thought to herself that those people were starting a little early.) We had brats and hot dogs, beans and potato salad and brownies and good company. John, Jill, Jeremiah, Heidi, John's parents: John and Debby, Quinn and Parker, Andrew, Laura and Micah, Rocko (happy birthday, Rocko), Charlie and Marverick. And Lee came back. The evening was as nice as the company.



The main event was, how can I say, not so exciting. We did have people asking us if Andrew and Micah and John were with us. They were definately sitting on the wrong side. John was the only one to stay for the entire game with the hope that Snowflake might pull out a win. Didn't happen. Lee said that this win makes BR the conference champion. We play RV next Friday at home. We are still looking for a close game. Maybe this weekend.

You have been a joy to us. Even though this is your last year at home and we feel every minute of that, we are so excited for you and your very bright future. You have grown into a beautiful young woman. You are a leader among your peers as well as a friend to them all. It isn't just us that will miss you when you go. Our every pray is for your happiness and success.

October is the Best

Don't you wonder sometimes how these men of God with so much weight on their shoulders have such a good sense of humor? I just love this picture. Thanks, Jeremiah, for bringing it to our attention. Our Bishop, actually was there when Pres. Hinckley bopped Henry B. Eyring with his cane. He said the conference center just exploded with laughter.

Pres. Eyring spoke in the Priesthood session and David came home and shared his talk with Lee and me. I loved his advise. 1)Remember that Heavenly Father has answered your prayers in the past. 2) Stop worrying about yourself.
3) Pray and serve those your have stewardship over. I loved that. Henry B. Eyring was the Pres. of Ricks College the year I spent there. He was a giant then. He told us once that he and his family pray every day that the Savior will come soon.

Bishop Shumway told us another story. (Because his father is a General Authority he must be able to speak with alot of people in that circle.) One couple is Pres. Hinckley's daughter and son in law. He met them in the Salt Lake Temple this time. They take care of Pres. Hinckley some days of the week....laundry, tidying up, etc. Pres. Hinckley told them he was trying to stay strong so he wouldn't "go" before the Lord was ready to let him so he exercises. He has a room with bar bells, a bike and a tread mill. One day he went in there and they looked through the crack in the door and he was lifting the bar bells. First the left arm and then the right as he said, "one, two, and I hate this so bad".
