Gordan B. Hinckley

We will miss Pres. Hinckley. Lee has never known another prophet. This picture was taken at the last general conference when Henry B. Eyring was sustained as a counselor to Pres. Hinckley. I love it that they are smiling. That was one comment that I have read over and over...Pres. Hinckley and his sense of humor. People really noticed that. Even world leaders. The BYU channel has been showing alot of videos, talks, etc., of President Hinckley. I appreciate and love the fact that we don't have to stress over who will lead us now. Isn't it great to have that confidence and faith in the process.

Got Rain?

We really had a good rain. It melted away alot of the old snow. Which was a good thing it was looking pretty bad. I am not sure how these pictures will line up so you might have to use your imagination to match them. 1)The creek going into the lake...if you look close you will see a bridge. It is from our neighbor back up in there with the rock house. His bridge floated away. Dad says when it dries up he will just get on his tracker and pull it back up stream. 2) Billy Creek by Heidi and Jeremiah's house @ the bridge. That one is my favorite because the sky is pretty too. 3)Show Low Lake spill way. It was just roaring over the spillway about 3 feet high. 4)The field in Show Low behind Caroline's house. They were worried about the bridge in Show Low but when it got colder and started to snow everything started receding.

We have about 3 inches of new snow this morning. School is running a 2 hour delay. Lee is still asleep at 7:30 am.

Soup's on!

Here's an interesting thought: The number of those who report that their "whole family usually eats dinner together" has declined 33 percent. This is most concerning because the time a family spends together "eating meals at home [is] the strongest predictor of children's academic achievement and psychological adjustment. Family mealtimes have also been shown to be a strong bulwark against children's smoking, drinking, or using drugs. There is inspired wisdom in this advise to parents: WHAT YOU CHILDREN REALLY WANT FOR DINNER IS YOU.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JILL.

Sometimes it seems like another world we lived in when you were a baby. conception and birth is a miracle but so is growth. You were tiny once and now you are the mom of tiny people. It is heartwarming to remember back to those early years. You helped define us and make us happy. We wish you a happy birthday and a happy year.

The Bucket List

David and I went and watched The Bucket List today. I know some of you have seen it and liked it. We liked it too. It was nice to watch a movie that was about real relationships. We laughed and we cried. FYI: language was bad.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

On some nights when we have time to reflect, we think about you and your little families. It is usually about 10:30 so most of you would be asleep. Tim would be at work on most nights. We always pray for you. We pray for your health and happiness, for prosperity, for guidance from the Holy Ghost and for protection and for an increase of love in your marriages and homes. We love you all and are pleased with your loves and lives. And we wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.

We needed to find our birth certificates a couple of weeks ago. So we came across some fun pictures. This is David when he was about 5 years old. Isn't it cute?

The madness of Settlers of Catan

I know I have more pictures of this group of pilgrims as they compete for land and possessions. This one is on New Year's Eve of this year. At this time, Jeremiah seems to be the leading winner.

I want out

Quinn looks like a little elf. He put his hat on himself. See the ears? Parker wanted out to play with him.

I had an Auntie who read to me.

Quinn will sit down forever with a lap and a book. Lee spent some time with Quinn this past weekend with some fun books on the couch. If you look close you can see gold bug. He has really gotten good at finding him. Parker isn't in these shots but we read gold bug several times and she was quick to find anything pink and saying, "mine....pink".

Happy Abbey

Tim, Connie and Abbey came up after New Year's. Abbey liked all of the white stuff.....including the white of an Oreo cookie.

This was fun to watch. Quinn was very interested in Megan's skills. He just sat fascinated with her coloring skills. When she started up the little internet programs for children he was so excited and surprized that there was all that fun to be had on the computer. Melanie is cute in this picture too. She just likes being part of the happenings.

Over the meadow and through the woods to grandma's house we go.

The holidays brought the grandchildren to town. We were happy to have snow for them to play in. It is true what they say with cousins there is no need for a warm up time. They just see each other and start to play.
